Make a small kete and putiputi (flowers) in this introductory course where you will earn the basics of raranga (weaving) and how to harvest the korari (flax). In earlier times learning the art of raranga was a tapu (sacred) and intensive activity so you will also be advised how to follow Maori protocols when working with korari.

Basic Soap Making

In this fun class you will learn the basics of soap making. We will use the traditional Cold Process method and use oils that may be in your pantry already.  This  method produces very mild soap that is perfect for baby or sensitive skin yet will still clean the grubbiest of hands. This is a practical hands-on workshop. Easy Soap Making

Do you want to make soap the cheats way?  Our tutor will provide batches of pre-made soap that can be reprocessed to form brand new bars of soap.  You get lots of interesting patterns as the different soaps merge together and you can customise your soap by adding scents and colours to make a unique and easy homemade gift!
