As CEW is based at Kamo High School the programme follows the school terms with courses running quarterly. PLEASE NOTE the CEW office is closed over the school holiday periods.

A brochure is printed each term and these are available from your local library or Kamo High School. If you wish to be on the CEW mailing list please provide details of your postal address.

PUBLIC HOLIDAYS
Please note that classes are not held on Public Holidays. If in doubt as to when your class will run please check with the office.

Office Hours

During term time only (the office is closed during the school holidays):

MONDAY - THURSDAY: 10am-5pm
FRIDAYS: 10am-4pm

EVENINGS - OPEN until after 6pm the first night that a new class starts

SATURDAYS/SUNDAYS - CLOSED but I am normally onsite between 8.30 and 9am if classes are running that day

DURING SCHOOL HOURS - if the CEW office is unattended please go to the school office.

AFTER HOURS - if the office is unattended I may be elsewhere on the school grounds setting up classes for the night and may be only 5 minutes away if you care to wait

As CEW is a one-woman operation there may be times when the office is unattended. I apologise for any inconvenience. If phoning, please leave a message on the answerphone if I am not immediately available to take your call.

Payment

COURSE FEES
Fees should be paid once your enrolment has been confirmed and prior to the class starting. This helps to keep costs (and fees) down, assists with administration and reduces interruptions to the class on the first evening.
Payment can be made by:
1. Internet banking to the ASB account of Kamo High School - account no. 12 3093 0154474 00. The reference is CEW followed by the course code and your surname.
2. Mailing a cheque, together with enrolment details, to Community Education, P.O. Box 4137, Kamo 0141.
3. Calling into the CEW office in the Kamo High School grounds (during term time only)
Please note that EFTPOS is only available at the school office - CEW does not have these facilities. If you call in after the school office has closed payment can only be made by cash or cheque.

RECEIPTS
Receipts will only be posted if requested. If enrolling by post please enclose a stamped addressed envelope if you require a receipt.

REFUNDS
If a class is cancelled a full refund will be given. In all other situations refunds are at the sole discretion of the CEW office and an administration fee may be deducted. CEW reserves the right to transfer the fees to another course or hold a credit for a later date.

Enrolments

ENROL EARLY
Late enrolments mean classes can be full or cancelled. Please look out for trial and information evenings for some classes.

ENROLMENT OPTIONS
Please complete the online enrolment form. Any online bookings or emails will be responded to, so no response means it hasn't been received. Please allow for some delay in response if communicating over the school holiday period (the office will be closed over the Christmas holidays and will re-open on the 7th of February). If you wish to check that your enrolment has been received please phone (09) 435 0889 once the office has re-opened.. Alternative methods of enrolling (during term time only): call into the CEW office at Kamo High School; phone 435 0889; or email cew@kamohigh.school.nz.

SCHOOL PUPIL ENROLMENTS
Funding regulations state that students under the age of 16 years may not attend any government subsidised classes. Please check eligibility if enrolling a student in one of the courses.

WAITING LISTS
Waiting lists operate for classes filled to capacity. You will be contacted if a place becomes available.

Disability Access

Every effort is made to accommodate learners with disabilities. It is helpful if you can advise when you enrol if you have any special requirements. For wheelchair access, please contact the office prior to enrolment so that suitable arrangements can be made.

Safety

All care is taken to ensure the safety of students but due diligence is required by individuals. When working with equipment it is important that students adhere to basic safety procedures and follow any instructions. In the health and fitness classes it is requested that any health issues are disclosed before enrolling, i.e. pregnancy, history of a bad back or neck, any major or recent surgery. For your own safety it is essential that you inform the tutor of any condition that could cause concern. It is also important that students work to their own ability.

Smoke Free and Dog Free Zone

Kamo High School is a smoke free zone. Smoking is not allowed in any buildings or anywhere on the school grounds. Please respect this request and refrain from smoking whilst on the premises. School policy states that no dogs are allowed on the school grounds. This includes dogs in vehicles. Please do not leave your dog unattended in your vehicle. Thank you.

Finding Your Classroom

On the first day or evening of your class there will be signs outside the school directing you to the classroom. There is also a map of the school on the ranchslider to the CEW office if you need to check where you are going. THe CEW office is normally open until after 6pm the first night that your class starts should you need any assistance. Please arrive 5-10 minutes early to allow time to find the classroom.
