Palette knife technique is effective and rewarding and allows you to create paintings that are full of rich texture and sweeping blends of colour. Using this technique you avoid unnecessary details, creating the main shapes and colours in a fast and easy way. Weaving Workshop:
Contemporary Korowai and Tāniko

​Learn one of the oldest and most versatile
of all Māori weaving techniques which can be used to create wall hangings, ketes, guitar
straps and full sized korowai (cloaks). In this three day workshop you will master this traditional hand weaving technique using a range of different materials to make a miniature cloak which can be used as a wall hanging. This is a great way to start your journey to design and create your own korowai, an heirloom to be treasured by future generations. Join Rita in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere and learn at a pace you are comfortable with. *Materials are extra and a $55 starter kit can be purchased from the tutor on the first day.  A sample (as shown above) can be viewed at the CEW office.
