IMPORTANT INFORMATION

CEW Term Dates ​for 2025

​​Term One:
07 February - 11 April
Public Holiday: 06 February, Waitangi Day

Term Two: 
28 April - 27 June
Public Holiday: 02 June, King's Birthday &
20 June, Matariki 


Term Three:
14 July -  19 September
Public Holiday: N/a


Term Four: 
06 October - 19 December
​Public Holiday: 27 October, Labour Day

​As CEW is based at Te Kamo High School the programme follows the school terms with courses running quarterly.  The CEW classes generally start  from the 2nd or 3rd week of the school term and are staggered throughout the term.

Brochures are printed each term and these are available from your local library or Te Kamo High School.  If you wish to be on the CEW mailing list please provide details of your postal address.

​PUBLIC HOLIDAYS: Classes are not generally held on Public Holidays i.e. no classes King's B'day. If in doubt as to whether your class is running on any specific date please check with the office.

CEW Office Hours 

The CEW office will be CLOSED over the school holiday seasons.   Please refer above for term dates for 2025.  Courses are staggered throughout the term.
​​The following hours are during term time only. 
​
​TUESDAY - THURSDAY: 10am-5pm
FRIDAY & SATURDAY: 10am-4pm

EVENINGS - Open until 6.00pm, the first night that a new class starts. 

SUNDAY & MONDAY - CLOSED 

DURING SCHOOL HOURS - If the CEW office is unattended please go to the school office.

AFTER HOURS - There may be times when the CEW office is unattended. I might be elsewhere on the school grounds setting up classes for the night and may only be 5 minutes away, please feel free to wait or call. If your call is not answered immediately, leave a message on the answerphone and I'll get back to you as soon as possible.

Alternatively, please email through any enquiries. Emails are generally responded to promptly.

GATES: Will only be open until 7pm on class evenings due to security.  


Enrolments

ENROL EARLY:  Late enrolments mean classes can be full or cancelled. Please look out for trial and information evenings for some classes.

ENROLMENT OPTIONS:  Please complete the online enrolment form. ALL online bookings will be responded to, so no response means it hasn't been received.
Please allow for some delay if enrolling over the school holiday period as the reply is not an automatic response.

SCHOOL PUPIL ENROLMENTS:  Funding regulations may restrict students under the age of 16 years attending classes.  Please check eligibility if enrolling a student in one of the courses.
  
WAITING LISTS:  Waiting lists operate for classes filled to capacity. You will be contacted if a place becomes available.

Payment

COURSE FEES: After enrolling, you will receive an email confirmation that the class is running, along with a request for payment. Please ensure that fees are paid before the class begins.

​PAYMENT: can be made by internet banking to the ASB account of Kamo High School Board of Trustees a/c: 12 3093 0154474 00.
The reference is CEW followed by the course CODE and your SURNAME. 

RECEIPTS: Receipts can be emailed or posted on request.

REFUNDS:  If a class is cancelled, a full refund will be provided. In all other cases, refunds are at the sole discretion of the CEW office and may be subject to an administration fee.
CEW reserves the right to transfer fees to another course or hold a credit for a later date. 
We understand that circumstances can change and unforeseen events occur, and we will do our best to assist you.

Finding Your Classroom

On the first day (or evening) of your class, look for signs outside the school that will guide you to your classroom. Additionally, a map of the school, including directions to your classroom, will be emailed to you before the class begins. Please plan to arrive 5-10 minutes early to ensure you have enough time to find your way.

Disability Access

We strive to accommodate learners with disabilities. Please inform us of any special requirements when you enrol.
​Additionally, let us know in advance if you have any access needs so we can guide you to the best parking options and the easiest routes to your classroom and the nearest wheelchair-friendly restrooms.  

  

Safety

We take every precaution to ensure student safety, but individual diligence is also necessary. When using equipment, it's crucial to follow basic safety procedures and adhere to all instructions.
For health and fitness classes, please disclose any health issues before enrolling, such as pregnancy, a history of back or neck problems, or any major or recent surgeries.
For your safety, inform the tutor of any condition that might be of concern. Additionally, it's important that students work within their own abilities.


Smoke Free and Dog Free Zone

Te Kamo High School is a smoke-free zone. Smoking is prohibited in all buildings and anywhere on the school grounds. Please respect this policy and refrain from smoking while on the premises. Additionally, school policy prohibits dogs on the school grounds, including those in vehicles. Please do not leave your dog unattended in your vehicle. Thank you for your cooperation.
