Watercolour is a wonderfully expressive medium offering endless opportunities for portraying subjects in a painterly, informative manner. Our tutor, Gayle Forster, will guide you through the different layers/applications that make up a composition: from broad washes for the background, to selected detail washes, to final detail. You will start the day by painting a seascape. Imagery will be analysed and simplified into a range of different tones. Colour choices and intensities will be discussed with step by step demonstrations. Suitable for both beginners and those with some experience. Gain an insight into the unique cultural history of Aotearoa and in doing so learn the answers to fundamental questions such as, what is the Treaty of Waitangi? Compare the Declaration of Independence with that of the Treaty texts.
