EXCEL WORKSHOP

An introduction to this popular program. Learn how to create spreadsheets, charts, perform calculations with formulae, make and sort lists, format data, etc. This course is designed to help build your skills and confidence. No previous knowledge of spreadsheets required. Make Excel work for you!

Photo Editing is improving, fixing, and altering photos and other images. It is also about preparing images for the internet and print, and saving files in the appropriate formats. Some photo editing involves combining several images and text to create an original new image for a website, social media, books, flyers, artworks, and other items. Do you struggle to use your smartphone or iPhone? Then this workshop is for you! Learn how to confidently use technology so you can stay connected with your children and grandchildren. Our tutor, Andrea Nagy, runs a family technology business and has extensive knowledge of handheld devices. This is a hands-on class so bring your tablet or phone (fully charged). Publish your own eBooks for FREE on the internet. Publishing your own eBook allows you to retain control over your book, choose your royalties, and choose the marketing processes. Sell your eBook at an online eBook store, including Amazon Kindle, Barnes and Noble, Kobo, and Smashwords or sell your eBook on your own website - or share it for Free. Publish any book genre you choose including your own novel, research, childrens’ book, family history, business booklets, poetry, or religious and inspirational books. This is a practical hands-on class where you can work on publishing your own manuscript, or learn the processes from our examples. All the techniques we cover can be done for Free at home using online resources.

BOOST your COMMUNICATION SKILLS

We must all have had situations where:
  • We think we have agreed on a course of action or given what we thought was a crystal-clear instruction only to find the other person does something completely different leaving us frustrated or incandescent with rage!      BUT was it them or just our inability to communicate clearly?
  • We have sent an email in haste with few if any punctuations and wonder why we receive a curt (or no) response. Whose fault?
  • We have failed to fully listen and engage with the other person and then wonder why we don’t get the contract, job offer or follow up social engagement. Do we stop to see how we feel when it happens to us?
  • Do you avoid difficult situations because you don’t know how to deal with them? Then of course, the small issue becomes a mountain you don’t know how to climb.
Communication skills are necessary because they help us to share information, understand others and build connections.
